Day of Hope
During the annual Day(s) of Hope in May, Hope Creek Charitable Foundation (HCCF) organizes over a thousand volunteers in the Snohomish County community tasked with one mission: serve others by completing community service projects large and small. This event has grown year after year and it’s now expanded to a two-day event to serve more people.
“Our goal is to help our neighbors, simple as that,” said Jennifer Boyington, Director of HCCF. “We get a chance to make a difference by pulling weeds or changing someone’s oil…that’s amazing.”
Projects include maintenance and clean-up at county parks and local schools and helping other non-profit organizations like Cocoon House, Interfaith Home, and the Mill Creek YMCA. In addition to large projects, teams will be helping seniors and families complete small projects at individual residences.
“If you have a heart for service and want to help the community, all you have to do is show up to serve,” said Boyington. “With this type of service, YOU get served as well, it’s pretty cool to see how lives are touched on both sides.”
