Backpacks of Hope
August School Supply Drive
If we learned anything from 2020 it was that in tough times, we can PIVOT and adapt to the needs in our community.
Our Backpacks of Hope program changed how we fed students. It changed how we supported teachers and schools. And it changed how we ran our program. We are taking those changes with us into the 2021/2022 school year and creating new ways we can help these students.
One new way we are supporting these students is with needed school supplies. We know we have at least 360 students who we support with food. And now we will collect school supplies to give those 360 students a great head start with school supplies.
We will have barrels in the lobby all throughout the month of August. We also have an amazon wish list to have school supplies delivered to us.
We will then utilize our unique distribution we use for food for the school supplies. Instead of the kids and families coming to us, we bring the school supplies to them
Supplies We Need

Backpacks of Hope provides weekend meals for children and their families every week of the school year.
BACKPACKS OF HOPE provides weekend meals for children and their families every week of the school year. (approximately 40 weeks of the year). We believe in feeding both the children and their parents. In the 2015-16 school year we served 100 families weekly from local schools in the Everett, Snohomish and Edmonds School District. We hope to add an additional 50 families for the 2016-17 school year.
Backpacks are filled on Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings. If you want to get involved in packing , leading a food drive at a local grocery store, or donating to this program, complete the volunteer form. There is a Food Bin in the lobby of Gold Creek Church where you can drop off donations Monday-Friday between 8:30 AM-4:00 PM.
